What is the Electromagnetic Spectrum?

The electromagnetic spectrum is a family of waves consisting of, gamma ray, X-rays, ultraviolet, visible light, infra-red, microwaves and radio waves.

All the waves that make up the electromagnetic spectrum travel at exactly the same speed through space (vacuum). This speed is 3 x 108 ms−1 which is the speed of light.
